Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries are a rechargeable type of ion (Li-Ion). Its benefits over more traditional cobalt-based lithium-ion batteries are higher power output, faster charging, reduced weight, and longer life.
LiFePO4 are the safest type of lithium battery currently available on the market. The nominal voltage of a LiFePO4 cell is 3.2V compared to sealed lead acid, which consists of 2V cells.
So a 12.8V battery has 4 cells connected in series and a 25.6V battery has 8 cells connected in series.
The LiFePO4 battery has an advantage over the lithium ion battery, both in terms of cycle life (it lasts 4-5 times longer) and safety. This is a key advantage because lithium-ion batteries can overheat and even catch fire, while LiFePO4 does not.

Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is an advanced charging technology that allows solar panels to deliver more power by adjusting the operating state of the electrical modules. Due to the nonlinearity of a solar array, there is a maximum power output point (maximum power point) on the array curve.
Traditional solar charge controllers (switch charging technology and PWM charging technology) cannot charge batteries at this point, so they cannot get maximum power from the solar panels.
However, the solar power charge controller equipped with MPPT control technology can track the maximum power point of a solar array at any time to obtain maximum power for battery charging. Take the 12V system, for example.
The maximum solar panel voltage (Vpp) is about 17V and the battery voltage is about 12V. Generally, when the solar charge controller is charging a battery, the solar panel voltage stays at about 12V, indicating that the maximum power is not being used.
MPPT solar charge controllers provide a solution to that problem by constantly adjusting the input voltage and current of the solar panels, thus maximizing the input power.
Compared with conventional PWM solar charge controllers, MPPT solar charge controllers offer maximum power from solar panels and provide higher charging current. In general, MPPT solar charge controllers can improve the power utilization rate by 15% ~ 20% over PWM solar charge controllers.
